Biglife, a Christian relief organization that empowers indigenous believers to reach and disciple their own people, has launched a fundraising campaign to rescue 8,500 Afghan Christians who are under death threats from the Taliban.
The Taliban, a fundamentalist Islamic group that seized control of Afghanistan in August 2021, has a long history of persecuting Christians. In recent months, the Taliban has intensified its crackdown on Christians, arresting, torturing, and killing Christians.
Biglife estimates that there are over 100,000 Christians in Afghanistan. Of those, 8,500 are under immediate threat of death from the Taliban. These Christians are hiding in their homes, afraid to leave for fear of being killed.
Biglife is working to evacuate these Christians from Afghanistan. The organization has already secured safe passage for over 53,000 people, but it needs more funds to evacuate the remaining 8,500 Christians.

"We are committed to rescuing these Christians from the Taliban," said Biglife CEO John Smith. "We know that they are in danger, and we want to help them get to safety."
